Our Vehicle Fleet

The Geek Honda Jazz

The Honda Jazz has been a part of Geeks on Wheels since 2007, transporting our mobile computer technicians to the homes and businesses of technologically frustrated locals.

The Jazz was originally chosen over competitors for its low emissions and reduced running costs. It is one of the most clean & fuel efficient vehicles of its class, meeting the EURO 4 emission level and LEV II (Low Emissions Vehicle) standards.

Geeks on Wheels have a close working relationship with Honda, which provides a first class service across New Zealand, helping us to keep our 31 vehicles on the road.

Honda Jazz
And… we are committed to technology that improves the environment we live in.

Therefore we will be continuing our endeavour to significantly cut road pollution and damaging particulate release by progressively upgrading our fleet to new Jazz Hybrids as and when they become available in New Zealand. These new vehicles incorporate Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid system that combines an advanced electric motor with a conventional petrol engine. This will make a significant difference as these new generation vehicles can (in some conditions) run completely under electric power.

Car NamingPacMan

From 2011 onwards, we introduced our new Geeks on Wheels logo. With such strong imagery, our cars have acquired something of a cult status in and around local communities, with people posing for photos whenever our wheels are stationary!

And now each Geeks on Wheels vehicle can be identified by a unique name that reflects a nostalgic aspect of a previous Information Technology era – from computer & gaming system names, operating system names to legendary gaming characters and well know computing acronyms.

Van Specifications

The Geek-Team Van

If you thought our fleet of Honda Jazz was hard to miss,   wait til you see our iconic 1981 Bedford CF-230.

Our A-Team styled van is often seen in different locations around New Zealand. Modified from its original configuration to accommodate a 5.7 litre Small Block Chevrolet V8 350 engine providing 170 horse power, you can hear it coming a mile away.

As Geeks on Wheels is a mobile service where driving is a central part of our job, it was only fitting that we should possess a toy, that is fun, and people will enjoy seeing as part of our advertising promotions and at events.

Don’t worry – There are no 'crimes that we didn’t commit', and we don’t even have a BA Baracus (Mr. T) – but…

If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find us, you can hire... The Geek-Team.

A special thanks to Antony Konnerth for the dedicated hard work of not just an ordinary mechanic – but a super hero mechanic who has helped to keep our van in tip-top condition.
